Hi. My name is Mark Manuel Creanza of Excellent Mizumoto Koen.

日本に来て7年目になります。エクセレント水元公園で働き始めて4ヶ月になります。
介護以外にも色々な仕事をしてきました。

It`s been 7 years since I came to Japan. It has been 4 months since I started working here at the Excellent MizumotoKoen.
I also worked at other jobs beside nursing care.

介護業界で働いていてとても楽しいことは、利用者様や他の職員といかに喜びを分かち合えるかというコミュニケーションです。ある時、私はおやつタイムを担当しました。利用者様がリンゴの皮をむいていただいて、皮が長い列になっていて、楽しく会話が盛り上がりました。

The thing I enjoy most working in the nursing care industry is about communication, how I can share my pleasure with the elders and other staff. One time, I was in charge of snack time. The residents peeled apples, which formed a long string of peels, it was fun and we had a lively conversation.

最初は料理が難しかったです。レシピは日本語だし、知らない調味料や料理もたくさんありました。
ご飯の準備に時間がかかったり、料理に合った食器を選ぶのも難しかったのですが、最近はできるようになりました。

At first, cooking was difficult. The recipes are in Japanese, and there are many seasonings and dishes I don`t know.
I was taking much time to prepare meals before, and choosing the right tableware for the food was also difficult, but I`ve been able to do it recently.

しかし、楽しいことばかりではありません。利用者様の行動がいつもと違うことに気づいたとき、仕事の責任の重さを感じる時もあります。

It wasn`t all fun and games, though. When I noticed that a resident was acting differently than usual, I felt the weight of the responsibility on the job.

日本語で書くのはまだ難しいですが、周りの職員に聞いたり、アプリで調べたりして勉強しています。
これからも分からないことを一つずつ解決しながら頑張っていきたいと思います。

I still find it difficult to write in Japanese, but I`m learning by asking the staff around me and looking things up on the app.
I will continue to do my best while clearing up the things I don`t understand one by one.
